TEDA: Why are awards programs like those offered by The Experiential Design Authority important to our industry?
CS: By providing unbiased and transparent recognition through programs like these, The Experiential Design Authority uplifts the work that shapes our industry's future. Supporting this platform is about championing excellence and ensuring that the best and brightest ideas in experiential design are celebrated and championed.
TEDA: What made you decide to serve on The Experiential Design Authority's U.S. Advisory Board?
CS: I believe in the transformative power of creativity and innovation in our industry, and I want to support The Experiential Design Authority in its mission to recognize and honor those attributes. I hope that by doing this, we encourage others to think less about just creating a physical exhibit and more about crafting a cohesive experience.
TEDA: What's the best advice you received early on in your career?
CS: Ask for help from people you admire. Don't be afraid to depart from the status quo and take calculated risks. And always do your research.
TEDA: When it comes to experiential design, what's more important: concept or execution?
CS: If you can’t execute, the concept is meaningless. What separates good from great is mastering the final 100 yards.
TEDA: Is there an event or trade show on your bucket list that you have not yet experienced?
CS: EuroShop. But I’m thrilled to be attending in 2026, and I can’t wait to walk the show floor.
