2025 ExSys Awards Finalists Announced

The Experiential Design Authority is proud to announce the finalists in its first-annual ExSys Awards competition, honoring excellence in system-based exhibit design and execution. The inaugural competition received more than 130 entries from exhibit designers, producers, and manufacturers in the United States, as well as Europe and Australia, making it the industry’s most competitive awards program for exhibits designed and built using pre-fabricated system components.
“The enthusiasm behind this program has been absolutely astounding,” said Travis Stanton, Executive Director of The Experiential Design Authority. “Both the quantity and quality of entries exceeded our expectations for year one, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase the finalists who received the highest scores from our judges.”
The finalists with the top three scores in each category will receive gold, silver, and bronze awards, respectively, with the top-scoring entrant receiving the 2025 ExSys Exhibit of the Year award. The 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award winner will also be recognized at the ExSys Awards ceremony in Chicago on June 20, hosted by Exhibit City News at the Moss Inc. headquarters.
Exhibits designed and built in the past three years using pre-fabricated system components were eligible, with members of the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) and International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) receiving complimentary entries into the competition. Additionally, students from Bemidji State University’s Exhibit & Experience Design undergraduate program and the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Exhibition & Experience Design master’s program were provided complimentary entries into the competition’s Best Student Design category.
“We are particularly proud of this year’s finalists in the Best Student Design category,” said Stanton. “Part of TEDA’s mission is to support the next generation of experiential design professionals through scholarships, internship stipends, and student competitions like this, and this year’s entrants truly impressed judges with their creativity, innovation, and unique perspective on the future of our industry.” Each of the finalists in this year’s Best Student Design category will be offered a $200 travel voucher to attend the awards ceremony in Chicago, and the gold award winner will receive a $500 cash prize courtesy of The Experiential Design Authority.
A preliminary panel of judges considered all entries, and their votes selected this year’s finalists, all of which will be scored by a final-round panel who will evaluate them based on criteria such as Concept & Design, Graphics & Messaging, Lighting & Multimedia, Execution & Fabrication, and Overall Impact.
Additionally, all realized exhibits that are finalists in this year’s competition (excluding finalists in the Best Student Design and Best Design Proposal categories) are eligible for the People’s Choice category. Voting is now live on the Exhibit City News website (https://exhibitcitynews.com/exsys-awards/), and the top three vote-getters will be recognized with gold, silver, and bronze awards, respectively.
